Champion for High Streets and Local Business

South Buckinghamshire offers a huge range of fantastic local businesses that are invested in our community and our future. These businesses not only generate meaningful local jobs and build a stronger economy, but they also build a stronger community as they make a real difference. Whether that be your local coffee shop, your favourite pub, our environmentally conscious businesses, or our bank and healthcare services, our high streets are bustling with dynamism and vibrancy.

Here in Buckinghamshire, we also have fascinating history and heritage attracting visitors from all over the country, which of course creates a wonderful platform for our local businesses in the tourism sector. I was very inspired when I met with Buckinghamshire Business First to see first-hand the support that they provide to established and growing businesses all across our constituency.

Alongside all the hardworking staff and volunteers, our local community thrives and unites the citizens of my constituency, as the support for our high streets and our local businesses is key in creating the welcoming environment of south Buckinghamshire.

Recently, I have been focusing on the Protecting Access to Cash campaign which saw numerous bank branches close on our local high streets. Since the closure of these branches, I have taken action on both a local and parliamentary scale, and I am happy that the Government has now committed to legislate for the protection of access to cash. I will continue to support this campaign and advocate the strength of our high streets and local businesses.
