Like many residents, I was surprised to read in the Bucks Free Press that a section 106 agreement was signed in respect of the Marlow Film Studios.
To be clear, it does not indicate approval will be given by the Labour Government.
The article and the existence of the agreement does give rise though to a number of concerning issues. I have today written to the Council to seek clarity on those issues. My letter is below.
At first read, this section 106 agreement that has been negotiated looks wholly inadequate for the scale of development harm that will be caused. I hope it will never be needed and the Government rejects the appeal. But if it is needed, it’s not good enough. I will review further with key local stakeholders before considering any next steps.
Let me remain clear - this is the wrong development, in the wrong location with a weak and worsening economic case. It must not proceed and I will continue to do all I can to oppose it.
