“𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒎 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍?” That’s a question that many of you have asked me whilst I have been out and about in Marlow over the last few weeks.
I know local residents are concerned about this development so I wanted to provide a short update on what’s next as we come closer to the Planning Inspectorate’s decision.
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞:
We're still waiting for a formal recommendation from the Planning Inspectorate following this year’s public inquiry. Once that’s received, the final decision will rest with the Secretary of State, Angela Rayner.
Since the change in government, I know many of you have written directly to the Secretary of State, making your voices heard and expressing serious concerns about this development. I’ve also been raising these concerns in Westminster—and I will continue to do so until the very end.
Our Green Belt isn’t just open space. It’s a vital part of what makes our community special—and once it’s lost, it’s gone for good.
