I am deeply disappointed by the Council’s decision not to contest the Beeches Park appeal. Local residents have spent years standing up for our community, our environment, and our Green Belt - and their voices must matter.
I have consistently opposed this development from the very beginning, most recently speaking against it at the Strategic Sites meeting earlier this year. Councillors made the right decision to reject the application.
To now see the Council step back from challenging the appeal is deeply troubling and risks setting a dangerous precedent for future development on our Green Belt. I have written to the Leader of the Council to ask for a full and transparent explanation for this decision.
I will continue to stand with residents and fight to safeguard our Green Belt. This is about defending the character of our area and ensuring it is preserved for generations to come.
