In just a few short months, a Lib Dem-led coalition has put the safety of our communities at risk by prioritising politics over public protection. Their reckless proposals to cut fire engines and stations are not driven by financial necessity - they are a dangerous gamble with lives.
At a time when the Labour Government is imposing rapid housing growth across Buckinghamshire, reducing our fire service capacity is not only irresponsible - it’s unacceptable.
I’m proud that our Conservative Fire Authority team is standing firmly against these disastrous plans. A proposed 50% cut to the service that protects Beaconsfield, Burnham, Bourne End and the surrounding villages must not be allowed to go ahead.
The Lib Dems need to hear us loud and clear: we will not accept cuts that compromise our safety.
